DIRECTOR

Dear esteemed students, it is with great pleasure that I welcome your to NSUK Open Distance e-Learning Centre. This is a Centre of excellence shown by our track records as we work with our students to achieve their life ambition. The Nasarawa State University Open Distance e-Learning Centre is committed to providing a quality academic open distance learning programme to interested candidates in Nigeria and from across the globe. The Centre is adequately and appropriately positioned to providing up-to-date, learner friendly, supported and interactive course materials.  The course materials were developed and produced by seasoned academics who are experts in the various academic disciplines offered in this programme.

The course materials are presented in modules made up of Study Sessions and sub-units. Each Study Session has learning outcomes which guides your study and  learning. All the sub-units have self-assessment exercises that will help you to know whether you are on course while reading. Each Study Session has a reference list for further reading and possible answers to the self-assessment questions. You are also provided with short videos of your lectures which have been securely stored in our portal for your use. We have a robust Learning Management System (LMS)

The course materials are self-explanatory for easy learning. While you attend lectures regularly on-line, you are expected to engage in self-study and assessment before engaging in a short period of physical interaction and examination. Also ensure you make use of our ICT and Library facilities which are world class.

The course material should therefore be your companion as you are expected to study independently with minimal physical guidance and facilitation. You are also expected to be in touch with your course e-tutors and facilitators any time you need help and clarifications. It is also important for you to note that the Centre has a well-equipped guidance, counselling and student-support unit to take care of those who may be in need of advice, guidance and counseling, from time to time.

On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, I would like to appreciate the course facilitators, e-tutors, developers, writers, editors and indeed the entire staff of the ODe-L Centre for their commitment and dedication in ensuring the delivery of qualitative on-line academic content. I therefore urge you to continue with the good work.

I sincerely appreciate the commitment and support of the Vice Chancellor and his management team to the Centre in ensuring that the necessary materials and personnel are made available for our students to make their study engaging, interesting and worthwhile.

While I welcome you to the 2025/2026 academic session, I most sincerely wish all our staff and students an interesting study time.
